So you fancy exploring the world and getting paid for it? Just imagine it, travelling the world, meeting new people from across the globe, experiencing different cultures and seeing all the wonders of the world and getting paid for working a few hours a day aboard a cruise ship.

Sounds like a dream? Well it can be a reality, that's if you know how to go about successfully landing yourself a cruise ship job.

Landing a cruise ship job is not as straightforward as getting a regular job, there are many do's and don'ts you need to know before you set out to find your job on the high seas. There are many so called cruise ship job recruitment agencies that are nothing more than a take. The main aim of these agencies is getting you to pay for a bogus membership, not getting you a cruise ship job. Then there are recruitment agencies that promise you a relaxing holiday with a few hours work and you end up working below deck, getting very little shore leave, working your proverbial off.

Some things to keep in mind
1. Travel expenses: ensure your travel expenses are covered to get you to and from the cruise ship, the last thing you want is being forced to use the money you make covering flights etc to get on the boat and back home.

2. Know what you are agreeing to, many luxury liners have a policies which you must agree to such as confidentiality about guests, no fratternising with the guests and completion of the entire voyage at an acceptable level are often required.

3. Don't go paying membership fees to so called "cruise ship agencies" that are only looking to part you and your money.

Working a Cruise ship job can be one of the most incredible, educational and exciting occupations anyone could ever wish for, it really is a dream job that is within your reach, but you must ensure you get the process right.
